The White Princess

Named from the title of Philippa Gregory’s excellent book, The White Princess is inspired by Elizabeth of York. Astute, resilient and influential, Elizabeth’s finest personality traits shine proudly through the glass windows of this Shepherd’s Hut.

A niece of Richard III, strong minded Elizabeth lived through a time of struggle and deceit. Her ties to Yorkshire were consolidated when she married Henry VII, a match that effectively ended the famous Wars of the Roses.

Sleep like a Queen in The White Princess’ luxurious bedroom, and experience uninterrupted privacy in the tranquil countryside surroundings. If you choose to venture further afield, you can walk in the footsteps of royalty at the nearby village of Towton, the site of the biggest battle ever faced on English soil, or take a stroll along York’s historic City Walls.
