The Fenton

Feel like the hero of your story, and take a glimpse of the victorious 1940s with a stay in an RAF fighter pilot’s hut. The Fenton is embellished with memorabilia of WW2 Britain, with photographs of the country’s finest planes upon the walls.
The Shepherd Hut takes its name from an aerodrome just outside of Hornington, which once served as a frontline fighter station. RAF Church Fenton saw a great many aircraft types pass through, from Hurricanes and Spitfires to Blenheims and Beaufighters. It was a small but important station that fought well above its weight.
A weekend away allows the perfect opportunity to embrace the cosy camaderie of wartime. Take time out from modern technology to break out some board games, or step back in time to nearby Eden Camp – a museum set in the grounds of a former Prisoner of War Camp.
