A Hull girl at heart, Johnson was famed for being the first woman to fly solo from London to Australia. She accomplished the trip in 19 days, in her own beloved second hand Gypsy Moth plane. Johnson lost her life in mysterious circumstances soon after, and her plane remains missing to this day.

Evidence of Amy’s love of 1930s fashion, flying and adventure is reflected throughout this abode. Pay homage to her past by visiting the Yorkshire Air Museum in nearby York, or take some time to reflect, as you amble around the grounds of the Manor.
