Just weeks after snow storms and record breaking cold temperatures, we welcomed the Spring heatwave with open arms! Instead we saw record breaking hot temperatures and also our first outdoor ceremony of 2018!
Nicole and her bridesmaids had their hair and makeup done by Bethan Victoria, Hannah Green and Naomi Kinnaird. Beautiful plaited up-dos for the bridesmaids with flowing curls for the bride. Hair stylist Hannah is also getting married at Hornington in the summer so it was lovely to see her too!
Nicole’s dress was stunning, a figure hugging lace gown with gorgeous beaded straps and a beautiful low back. Her floor length veil was gently blowing in the spring time breeze. Her bridesmaids wore beautiful lilac gowns which complemented Nicole’s dress perfectly.
Nicole made her way to the courtyard, arm in arm with her sister Vicky, where her groom Jonny was waiting under the Lych gate. She walked down the aisle to Christina Perry’s ‘Thousand Years’.
Their floral arrangements, by Setting the Scene Florists were made up of beautiful white blooms complemented with luscious green foliage.
After the newly weds said ‘I Do’, guests enjoyed ice cold beers and fruity Pimms on the Front Lawn while Nicole and Jonny were whisked around the grounds by photographer Pete Bristo and videographer Dave Spink.
Our Bride and Groom’s amazing wedding cake was baked by Vicky, Nicole’s sister. It featured Raspberry Victoria Sponge, Chocolate Orange Sponge and Lemon Drizzle Sponge!
Vicky, a dancer in Majorca, described Nicole as loyal, caring, thoughtful and beautiful on the inside and out. The sisters lit a candle on the top table in memory of their dad who sadly passed away.
Nicole works for Thomson’s travel agents and each table was named after a country Jonny and Nicole have visted together, including New York, Thailand, Jamaica and Mexico. Their top table was the Maldives! Each table had photos of Jonny throughout his life.
We were told that marriage is like a deck of cards- in the beginning you need 2 Hearts and a Diamond, and in the end you need a Club and a Spade!!
Guests enjoyed a feast served up by CGC Caterers and as evening arrived, they danced the night away on a twinkling dancefloor to their wedding soundtrack as played by DJ Chris Wilkinson. Soon enough guests were tucking into delicious stone baked pizzas by Dough Eyed Pizza.
The celebrations didn’t end on Saturday! On Sunday the new Mr and Mrs Downing made the most of the beautiful weather and arranged for football on the front lawn for the boys and a hot tub on the patio of the ladies!
It was a wonderful weekend of celebrations and we would like to say a huge congratulations to Nicole and Jonny on your special day.
