Love Stories

We love it when our Brides and Grooms incorporate their shared loves into their special day, and for Natasha and Tom, this came in the spellbinding form of Harry Potter. From the beautiful hard backed books stacked on their tables as centre pieces, to the Stag and Deer Patronas Charm cake toppers, to the spine tingling Hedwig’s Theme which played as the newlyweds walked back down the aisle, the day was magical from start to finish.

Natasha and her bridesmaids readied themselves in the beautiful West Wing while their nearest and dearest took their places in the Barn, ready for the ceremony. Tom, dressed in a lovely country green tweed suit, waited for his Bride with his Best Man and brother Andy at his side.

Natasha was absolutely stunning in her blush pink wedding gown. Her bridesmaids were dressed in a gorgeous deep plumb shade which was complimented by the similar tones in Natasha’s beautiful bouquet by Owl House Flowers.

Our bride walked down the aisle to Pachelbel’s Canon in D played by the fantastic Paul Graham of Mellow Cello who also played throughout the reception drinks enjoyed in the Ballroom and on the Front Lawn.

While the guests enjoyed their prosecco and bottled beers, we transformed the Wedding barn from ceremony to reception and it looked stunning. Each table had a stack of beautiful hard back books at the centre, on top of which sat small jars filled with dainty blooms of deep red, white and purple. As favours, each guest was given a glass milk bottle filled with everything to create the most perfect hot chocolate, including mini marshmallows and chocolate buttons and truffles!

On display was a beautiful hand-drawn tree trunk and branches, ready for guests to add the leaves by stamping their thumbprints.

Annika’s Aprons served a delicious feast of home-made chicken and beef pies served with creamed mash, bubble and squeak and all the greens. Dessert was a huge flourless chocolate cake served whole to each table, which guests cut up and helped themselves to. Topped with Chantilly cream and fresh raspberries, it was divine!

First to take to the microphone was Tom’s Best Man and older brother, Andy. He told us of how Tom and his Bride Natasha met, way back in 2009 in college, when Natasha asked Tom if he could teach her the drums. She has never shown an interest since then, so ether Tom was a terrible teacher or it was all just a cunning ploy! Andy thinks managing to convince Tasha to be his girlfriend is tom’s biggest achievement! He thanked Natasha for making his brother so happy, and to Andy, she has always been part of the family.

Mother of the Bride, Joanne was next. She thanked Tom’s family for everything they had done to help create this special day and gushed at how proud of both Tom and Natasha she was. If Joanne was ot had pick a husband for her daughter, it would be Tom.

Soon it was time for our Groom Tom to make his speech. After 3 years of planning, he thanked of their friends for still managing to look interested after being shown photos of flowers and props and wedding crafts hundreds of times! He thanked his Sister-in-law Bo for the incredible cake and his brother Andy who takes all the credit for driving it to Hornington in one piece and putting on the all-important cake toppers! He turned his attention to his new wife Natasha, who indulged his overconfident craft ideas (please see Tom’s ladder of crafts) and his demands for a glue gun. Natasha even let him have a go with paints and dabble with some decoupage! Fueled with coffee, cake and West End Show tunes, they pulled off a spectacular wedding!

When the pair met, Natasha was a little goth wearing a stripy top and far too much eyeline, and Tom was skinnier, shorter and supporting a dodgy fashion sense. They bonded over Harry Potter and loud and depressing music.

His wife is caring, hilarious, ridiculous, strange, kind, and Tom wouldn’t change a thing. Natasha is the best of wives and the best of women.

The pairs first dance was to ‘Heartbeats’ by Jose Gonzales, and their evening entertainment Night Owls DJ kept the part entertained from then onwards with a real mix of music which went down very well with us behind the bar! Annika’s Aprons served up sausage sandwiches for dancing fuel and the guests partied the night away.

Thank you to Tom and Natasha for sharing your special day with us at Hornington Manor. To the brand new Mr and Mrs Jackson!
