I have been privileged to be part of many wonderful weddings here at Hornington Manor, and the special day of Callie and George was no exception. The weather of course can be a bonus but with the spacious wedding barn and it’s accompanying rustic back drop for the ceremony, nothing could have been more delightful.
The sun came out exactly on demand and we were lucky enough to have champagne and canapés on the front lawn and in front of the Lychgate.
Family and friends of the lovely couple came from far and wide to see Callie looking radiant in her lace gown. Her bridesmaids wore beautiful midnight blue dresses and the little flower girl played the part perfectly of introducing George to his new bride.
Her proud father had come all the way from America with his brothers and other family members, to walk his daughter down the aisle, and so it all felt very special.
Siobhan from Feast Yorkshire did a superb job with the catering. It was also a very special day for her as it was her due date for the long awaited baby she was carrying. We were all on tenterhooks and ready to put the contingency plan in place just in case we needed to play midwife!
The speeches were hilarious especially from the best man. There were various stories of Callie’s father playing tricks on his brother with our wonderful life size sheep, which for us are fabulous parking wardens however somehow ended up in his bed!
Callie and George took to the floor for the first dance and the party had well and truly begun. It was a day full of happiness and a night full of celebration, all of us at Hornington Manor wish you the best and a happy married life.
