We are so used to seeing our Wedding Barn filled with circular tables that we were really excited for Christine and Richard to arrive and set up their banqueting tables running the whole length of the barn. Our gorgeous Bride Christine is a teacher so we wondered whether this might have inspired the set up!
Holding their ceremony in the Wedding Barn, Christine and Richard borrowed our wellies to line the aisle, overflowing with gorgeous floral displays curtesy of Fleur Adamo. Huge light up ‘C&R’ letters sat at the end of the aisle provided by Marvelous Glow.
Rich and his Groomsmen looked dapper in their suits and even more so in the Black Range Rover from the wonderful CPW Chauffeurs.
Christine was positively glowing as she made her way to the ceremony. Hand in hand with her father, Peter, she followed her trio of bridesmaids, who were dressed in a stunning navy shade. Christine’s lace gown had a beautiful flowing train and veil.
During the ceremony there were some beautiful readings-
The One
When the one whose hand you’re holding, is the one who holds your heart,
When the one whose eyes you gaze into to, gives your hopes and dreams their start,
When the one you think of first and last, is the one who holds you tight,
And the things you plan together make the whole world seem just right.
When the one whom you believe in, puts their faith and trust in you,
You’ve found the one and lonely love, you’ll share your whole life through.
What is Love?
Sooner or later we begin to understand that love is more that verses on valentines and romance in movies. We begin to know that love is now, real and true, the most important thing in our lives. For love is the creator of our favourite memories and the foundation of our fondest dreams.
Love is a promise that is always kept, a fortune that can never be spent, a seed that can flourish in even the most unlikely of places.
And this radiance that never fades, this mysterious and magical joy is the greatest treasure of all- one known only by those who love.
The newly weds signed the registry to ‘The Rhythm of Love’ by the Plain White T’s, and ‘Love is Easy’ by Mcfly. While Christine and Richard were whisked away for photos by the fab duo at Phil Marsden Photography, their guests enjoyed drinks and canapes in the Ballroom.
During this time, we transformed the barn from ceremony to reception and filled the space with Christine and Richard’s quirky touches. Huge silver helium balloons spelling ‘NOONAN’ sat behind the top table, while a DIY photo booth area and table football were set up on the mezzanine.
Instead of a guestbook, our Bride and Groom asked their guests to sign giant Jenga pieces. Each table was named after a childhood board game eg. UNO, Kaplunk, Connect4, Scrabble, with said game appearing on the table for the guests to enjoy, and we loved the pick n’ mix place setting favours. The theme for the day was definitely ‘fun’ and it was clear that everyone was having such a great time.
Christine’s dad Peter had a very heart felt speech. He revealed that even though everyone knows there is no one ever good enough for their daughter, he admits that Richard is. He likes football, he talks straight, he is a good Northern lad and has amazing style- by chance, Rich and Peter had bought the same suit! We leant that Christine and Rich got engaged in New York, after being together for 8 ½ years. Their trip to New York was full of surprises for both Christine and Rich. Rich had originally planned a secret trip for Christine in the Lakes with plans to propose. Christine had secretly organised the trip to be in New York!
Richard thanked his Bride’s mum and dad for raising such a beautiful, intelligent, kind, loyal and thoughtful person. He also thanked his own parents for raising such a handsome, tall, charismatic, intelligent son, in himself! Guests were asked to raise a glass to Grandma Rita who unfortunately wasn’t well enough to travel, and to Grandad Ken who was looking down on them.
Rich’s best man Dave, serves his country in Afghanistan and is currently looking forward to welcoming his first child with his wife. In true serviceman style, he had put together a survival pack for Richard in case he ever had to get himself out of the dog house. In it was Christine’s favourite chocolate, a card which read ‘I am totally in the wrong’ and a rose in a bomb case – to diffuse the situation!
Guests enjoyed a feast prepared by Hog and Apple, followed by a big wedding quiz led by our very own bar man, and now quiz mater, Simon.
We welcomed back The Players who entertained the guest until 11pm, after which it was rave time! Christine and Rich had hidden whistles and glowsticks and brought them out as a surprise to all the guests. Everyone had such an incredible time and we are so thrilled to have been part of it.
Congratulation to the newly-weds, Mr and Mrs Noonan. Enjoy your mini honeymoon in Iceland!
