Alistair is a chef at the 3 Acres restaurant in Huddersfield, and actually met Jessica’s father, who is also a chef, before he met his beautiful bride. Love blossomed when Jessica got a part time job at the same restaurant as a waitress. After 10 years together Alistair proposed in Bruges.

Following 2 years planning with attention to every detail they arrived at Hornington Manor with family and friends to start dressing the barn.

Alistair is a big shooting man so all the tables had reference to the countryside and Alistair’s favourite hobby, like Grouse, Gun Dog, Hare, Partridge and Heather.

The flowers from The Butterfly Net, were beautiful in autumnal colours of purples and oranges, with heather, thistles and miniature ornamental cabbages. Homemade blackberry gin was placed at everyone’s seat as a favour from bride and groom, which went down very nicely!

A beautiful 3 tier pork pie and minimalistic autumnal wedding cake was proudly displayed for everyone to enjoy, whether you had a sweet or savoury tooth.

As the perfect finishing touch, Elite Sound brought a 5ft A & J sign to light up the dance floor.

Jess left for church looking stunning in her beautiful bridal gown to meet her groom at the altar of Bolton Percy’s All Saints Church where they married at 12 mid-day. Husband and wife team, E & K Creative Photography took some fantastic shots of the newlyweds and their nearest and dearest.

They arrived back to the wonderful background music of James Hey on his baby grand piano who played tirelessly through the welcome drinks and the wedding breakfast. He also kept the party going through the evening with his fantastic DJ set. Robin Pickford was simply brilliant on his acoustic guitar playing numbers from Ed Sheeran and The Smiths.

Jess’s mum was the first to stand up and make a speech to welcome everyone to the long-awaited occasion of her daughter’s wedding, with a special mention to someone very important in Alistair and Jessica’s life who would have loved to have been present but sadly was not allowed. She presented them with a life size picture of Jethro their much-loved Spaniel, so that he too could join in the celebrations.

Bets were taken throughout the wedding barn, odds 10 – 1 that the bride’s Dad could not get through his speech without crying. He was hilarious with his helpful hints to Alistair about married life and telling little tales of Jessica as a child and the very special bond they share. He managed to keep the tears at bay, and was indeed presented with a crisp £10 as he proposed a toast to welcome Alistair into their family as his son-in-law.

The best man, James’ speech was a big surprise indeed for the bride and groom as pictures were projected on the wedding barn wall for all to enjoy, with Alistair’s ginger hair being a major topic for a few jokes.

Alistair, being such a wonderful chef, had prepared the wedding breakfast himself the day before the wedding and his fellow chefs put everything together so Alistair could enjoy the most important day of his life so far! The food was indeed delicious, guests were treated to French Onion Soup, Ox Cheek and Roasted Root Vegetables and topped off with a delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding. Guests partied into the early hours and really made Jess and Alistair’s day the most amazing celebration. Congratulations to the happy couple from all of us here at Hornington Manor!
